About the event
The 2024 HBCU Design Challenge is not only about enabling your students to showcase their design skills—it's an opportunity for them to make their mark, celebrate diversity, and contribute to meaningful storytelling through design. To participate in the Design Challenge, students must submit their design by April 21, 2024. Student submissions should reflect their unique perspective, creativity, and passion for design. The first and second place winner will be notified by Juneteenth, June 19, 2024.
The first place winner of the 2024 HBCU Design Challenge will receive the following:
$4,000 scholarship
All-expense paid two-day visit to the JCPenney home office in Texas to shadow members of the JCPenney design team
(7) 30-minute virtual mentoring sessions with JCPenney leaders to further develop your talent and prepare you for your professional ventures
The possibility for your design to be included in the 2025 Black History Month and/or Juneteenth JCPenney Hope & Wonder…
