In a week-long discussion, Professor Ariana Benson, a Spelman alumna, and Dr. Michelle Hite, AAHC co-founder, discussed the power and impact of Black artists through the incorporation of history in their musical interpretations.
Featuring "Songs in the Key of Life" by Stevie Wonder and "Cowboy Carter" by Beyoncé, among many others, Prof. Benson and Dr. Hite facilitated a deep discussion on how resistance and oppression are utilized by Black musical artists.
